I need help on cleaning vintage jewelry?!?!?!?
i bought a box full of this elderly lady's " junk jewelry" she collected since like 1926. and some are plastic and some are metal, gold, silver.. but im not sure if most are real gold, or silver. so i dont know how to clean them. i heard that toothpaste works well. only on gold. but i want to clean all of my jewelry not just the gold. so do i use soap and water and dry them really good so they dont rust out? or what? please help

There are three pairs of earrings that I am trying to identify the designers. Since they are from an estate sale, I can not know the year. They are all clip. 1 A button earring, gold chainlike design around a pearl center. This has 6 characters The first letter is either an " E" or " F" The second letter is a " P" The third letter looks like an E or F, but could be nearly anything. The fourth letter is definitely an " A" The fifth letter is most definitely an " R" The last letter is either an " I" or " L" .2 A silvertone swirly knot like design. This one I can't tell how many letters it is. It starts with a " T" ... it looks like it might start something like " tange..." or " tance..." 3 This one is a bold button earring, gold tone with emerald green and black or navy design, all of this around a pearl center. has a " B" next to a copyright sign on the back of the earring, and then the signature on the clip part starts with a B but is in illegible cursive with a slant to the right. I have an old bracelet that has 6 monkey faces on a blue ivory like rhinestone. On the back of each one has about 5 different symbols. All 6 faces are the same. This is about all that i know about it.
